You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Got the green light to buy a new bike because why not, currently got:
- Giant Trance 2 2015 (triggers broom, only frame is original) for bigger days
- Genesis Longitude (eBay drunken purchase, is a bit heavy. Standard)
Was looking at:
- Trek procaliber 8 (scared of isodecoupler frame issues, otherwise looks good)
- Specialised Chisel (love these)
- Orange Clockwork (because UK company etc)
Anything I’m missing?
Stipulations:
- Hardtail
- Budget £1300 tops
- Must be new
- 29er
- Different than my other two bikes.
Was thinking about something XC-like that I can hammer around the cross country loops with the boys on a Sunday, something on the lighter, faster side of things. I ride around Hertfordshire so nothing too demanding.
Ideas welcomed with open arms. Bonus points if you own a Chisel or Procaliber and can chime in about general rideability of both
Thanks folks!
Missus has a Aluminium Pro Caliber and loved it. She's actually selling it though now as her Top Fuel does the same job (but better).
They look cool too! 🙂
The new Bird hardtail looks good
I'd go for a CX or (whisper) Gravel bike .. Planet X alu one maybe for half your budget. Completely different and a hoot.
Starts from 1,2 k GBP:
Radon Cragger
long and slack 29er with 130 mm travel
Direct sales via bike-discount.de
Don't have a Radon bike (and: the Cragger is brand new) but know the Swoop and their super low weight XC racing machines a bit.
And those are superb.
Maybe best bang for the buck.
