Just bought some DT Swiss XCR100s to go on my Tranny. All was well until I thought about the wheels. I have Mavic CrossMax STs. They look well aesthetically but is it stupid having lightweight forks and not-so-light wheels? Will this increase the chances of damging the forks or is this a daft thought spinning around my mind. The bike is my winter, all day, cross country, play bike, nothing flash, but I'm worried that the forks are fragile and the wheels aren't.
I welcome thoughts, and please don’t tell me I've bought the wrong forks, they were a bargain price!
I used some hope XC hubbed wheels with D321 rims on SID forks for a while.
nothing broke but by god did they take a long time to spin up to speed.
Death will be the only likely result...
So there's no issue then, the build can commence. It was perhaps unwise to think aloud on this one.
