Currently running a 2.4 x king on the front of my 5 spot and have a 2.1 maxxis ignitor on the back which I want to get rid of.
my plan is to stick the x king on the back and match it with something of similar size on the front.
What would you recommend from the conti range which is good as a front tyre?
cheers
Steve
I have a similar dilemma at the moment.. Black Chili Mountain King seems the obvious choice..
Currently have tubeless x-king on the back and a rubber queen tubeless on the front. Both are 2.2 on my Whyte 19. Works well for me in the rocky dry trails of Oz! Had the same combo in the UK but 2.4 for both and non-tubeless loads of grip and the bigger volume helps track straight over rock gardens.
I've got a Moutain King 2.4 on the front of my Fargo, with a X-King on the back, works great.
The MK2 is an awesome tyre, if you get the black chili "protection" model.
chakaping is the MK2 a mountain king??
Where is cheapest for conti tyres then ?
bump !
yes Mountain King 2
I got mine from oen of the german firms, pair with tubes for a bargain price
do you remember which one mate?
bike discount or bike components
+1 for MK2 Black Chilli front with X-King rear - my 'summer' set up 🙂 Got mine from NextDayTyres
Baron for winter mud riding, MK2 for everything else.
Ordered a mk2 2.4 protection from bike discount de.
Am I right in thinking it's a black chili version. ?

X-King 2.4 Black Chilli?
I'm the same as you with X King rear and ended up going for Mountain King II front.
Why limit your choice to Conti?
Rubber Queen 2.2 or 2.4 🙂
Brilliant tyre.
