As above really.
Just got myself a Levo and the stick tyres are a bit pants.
I think these could be a really good combo on an ebike...
I have a judge paired with a vigilante which came on my cotic. They've been pretty good and I have never wished for more grip.
I had a 26 inch vigilante a few years ago and whilst the grip was good getting the tyre on and off the rim was a real pain which I wouldn't of fancied doing on the side of the trail, I haven't had to take these ones off yet so not sure if that's still the case.
They are also not the lightest tyres but I suppose that's not to much of a problem on a ebike.

Those WTBs do look bloody good and are reviewed well. I never rode the Levo with the stock Butcher Grid 29x2.6 front and rear, swapped the front for a Hillbilly 2.6 immediately (damned good tyre for all conditions), added Rimpact foam inserts for more support and later replaced the rear Butcher with an Eliminator 2.3 (rolls faster, drifts less between centre and side knobs, corners and brakes at least as well.)
What tyres came on the Levo? I've been testing a Butcher/Eliminator combo for the mag and rate them pretty highly. I've now taken them off and have just fitted a Vigilante/Trail Boss/Judge combo. Initial reports are that the Specialized combo works better on rocks (both wet and dry), while the WTB tyres work better in mud and loam.
The stock tyres are 2.6 Butcher grids.
They seem to lack bite on off piste forest trails, and don't grip at all on roots.
I'm used to a Dhf 2.5wt and dhr2 2.3 dd combo on my five, and I prefer them by a country mile.
Rolling resistance isn't a priority for me, so the verdict and judge seem like they could be interesting for me
Have they made the rubber compound stickier now? The old vigilante was a bit hard and pingy, I thought.
If I had an ebike I'd probably use schwalbe supergravity tyres as default, Hans dampf rear and magic Mary front - possibly in the 2.6in casing.
Available at reasonable prices from Germany (but stock up before October obvs).
Unfortunately super gravity 29er tyres in 2.6 don't exist.
It would either be the Verdict/Judge or Assegai/dhf/dhr2
I’ve the vigilante/judge combo on a bike. FlareMAX.
The vig is crap if you overinflate it... 😚. but it improves when you let some air out. And grips better... surprisingly 🤪
I was surprised that the combo was reasonably fast rolling (which probably means they’re not that grippy...).
It’s not been exhaustively tested as my foot is a bit pants atm.
Would probably agree with you about the Butchers on off piste loam - although it’s a better tyre than the Eliminator, it’s a long way off a Minion.
And Chakaping, I’d also agree with you - the Vigilante does seem a bit pingy. Almost like the casing is deforming too much and the knobs are just moving out the way rather than digging in. Especially noticable on rocks I’ve found, but that could just be a symptom of the light casing.
