Anyone use WTB rims / wheels?

The 2012 Blurs come with them but cant find many reviews. Are they any good? Or should i see if LBS will swap them for some other wheels.

I bought a pair of Laserdisc Trail rims (not the TSCs) in the CRC Private Sale and built them up into a cracking pair of wheels that proved themselves in the the Alps a couple of weeks ago. No complaints at all.

I believe that yours are coming as part of a wheelset so the following information won't apply to you, but anyone intending on buying the rims (not TSC ones) and building the wheels up themselves please take note. The ERD on the manufacturer's site is incorrect. it should be 535 and not 542 as stated. Worth knowing before you order the spokes. Of course, they could have also got it wrong on the TSCs.

Anyway ed34, similar rims from the same manufacturer so HTH 🙂

My WTB rims in the Alps (marmot body part included for purposes of scale 😉 )

I had a pair of WTB Speed discs awhile ago, they were nice and light, but I went to the Alps and had about 3-4 punctures per day. My friends were not amused. Having said that, the rims held up well and they'd probably work well if you converted them to tubeless.

My trail rims (not TCS) are great, easily convert to tubeless as the bead/hook is tight. Built them myself and used them on my Pitch but now used on a 456.

Got some AM Speed Disc rims from CRC which have been reasonably light, pretty strong and easy to convert to tubeless as well. Been running them for over a year with no problems (unlike some 355's used in another set of wheels). I'm pretty impressed as they were only 18 quid each.

Laser disc trails over here.
I like the 19mm width but they are a bit heavy ott for my riding.
Running mine tubeless using Bonti rim strips & valves - easy.

I have WTB Dual Duty XC on my Giant, basic rims, but strong, light enough and they've taken a hell of a beating the last two and a bit years and hardly have a mark on them. Still run true, and I'd probably buy another WTB wheel without question. 😀

My 2010 Blur had Laserdiscs. Never had a problem.
