Got a set of wheels with wtb kom i-23.
Wondering if they will work tubeless just with rim taped and tubeless valves? Anyone managed to do it. They don't look the best profile, certainly not like a stans rim.
Had some mavics that would not go up tubeless and had to use a rim strip.
Any advice from owners who've tried it would be greatly appreciated.
Yup, just needs tape- WTB's tubeless is pretty well sorted, they have a UST-style bead hook but without the weight and downsides of UST. It's slightly harder to inflate them than Stans ime, but the bead itself is better once they're on.
My i29s work fine
Yes, been using with Ikons for the last two years without a problem.
I25 STs here with various Maxxis, no issues at all.
I find the WTBs easier to set up than Stans as well as working with non tubeless tyres more readily as the fit's not quite as tight on non tlr tyres. KOM i25s here, rated.
