Has anyone seen this before on a WTB byway (or any other WTB tyre)? Got a pair and the front is perfectly fine, the rear has these tiny holes on both sidewalls in the same area, one side is slightly worse than the other, they're less than 1mm big, but the tyre doesn't seem to be holding air consistently.

I've ridden the bike to work, it's been at 35-40psi, left it locked up for 8 hours, come back to it and the pressure is down to 15psi. Same for leaving it in the garage overnight, at 30psi then next morning down to 10-15psi. But then on Thursday night I pumped it up to 50psi, and it's not lost any air since then, but there was a pool of sealant under the tyre this morning, it seems as though it's weeping out the holes. Would you return it? Bought from Evans.

I've been running Byways for a while and definitely don't have that problem. Looks like some sort of failure where the two compounds join. That tyre looks like new so I'd definitely be looking for a replacement.

Yeah they're only 100 miles old and it was doing it from the 2nd day after fitting. Thought it looked like a defect of some sort, especially with it being on both sides in the same area.

Quite a common complaint on the above mentioned Exposures.

Exactly same thing on both of a pair of WTB cross-boss, and reading reviews after discovering it said others had same problem. Warrantied (didn’t have to send back to CRC, just pics) and both replacements had same issue! I like the tyres so just glued a patch on inside and superglued the outside, they’ve held fine. But crazy they haven’t sorted it, this was a few years back now...

Same experience here with WTB Exposure 32mm TCS tyres. Sealant would eventually plug the small sidewall holes, but I'd then accidentally remove the plug of sealant after cleaning the bike down and scrubbing dirt off the tyres! Then tried Effetto Mariposa Caffelatex Sealant and problem resolved....
