You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Last day of riding for us in Val Di Sole. Moving on to Torbole tomorrow.
With the lifts and bike park still closed it was a choice of a big climb or put something together that was fun and lowerdown.
With the aid or Trailforks and a map we did a loop from the van.
Dusted and lubed the bikes, washed and dried our kit ready for next week
Drinks time.
Enjoy the weekend what ever you get up to 🍺🍺🍺
Lovely weather, cool, slight drizzle but always a headwind. Had a slow speed tumble as the pictures show down a 2m bank but stopped myself before the stream. Bonus!
I saw hares, avoided stampeding cattle (most unusual up there but I found a rock to climb up), two people, two dogs (neither on leads), and observed Whinchats at close range. A perfect morning apart from the pedal rash!
Just arrived out in La Chapelle D’Abondance near Chatel. Since the passportes du Soleil is on this weekend, I opted for a walk with my wife in the morning. This was an opportunity to scope out the trail I’d been eyeing up a potential bike route for ages. Unfortunately, it was hard enough to navigate on foot - holding onto chains at the side of the trail at one point!
Then in the afternoon, I thought I’d still have enough in the tank for a bike ride. Either I was much more tired than I thought, or the local trails are much too physical than I remember. I had to turn around half way up the climb since my heart rate was redlining and I realised there is not way I woudl make the climb without utterly exhausting myself. I hate admitting defeat. But hopefully, this will allow me to have enough left in the tank to brave the chairlifts for a while tomorrow. Hope the bike park is not too packed tomorrow.
Photo 1: hmmmm. Not sure I could take a bike down that!
First day of riding in Torbole for us. Decided on the Monte Altissimo Enduro Trail. As we loaded the bikes onto the shuttle it was 37° and forcast to touch 40°
The shuttle can only get so far so there is still a big climb to get to the top
The trail threw everything at us. Rocks, roots, dust, leaves, exposure and quite a few trees down so had to find alternative routes in places
Just over 20 miles of DHs and 2600m of descent
Great day out in the hills
No riding for me this weekend as i have a PSA blood test tomorrow.
I mention the no riding for 48 before a PSA test as a PSA
Rode the lifts for the day in the Portes du Soleil, starting from Chatel. I prefer to ride non-bike park trails normally, but there was a hiking event on, which made my choice of a hiking trail frustrating for everyone, even if perfectly legal.
the only problem lift queue all day was the one heading back to Morzine from Les Lindarets. But thankfully, I was going the other way.
Hope this works...
Just back from riding in Bulgaria, based in Bansko. Would recommend
Edit. Er, should be pictures 🤔
