Last day of work for 7 weeks. Beautiful 5 degree sunny morning. Currently walking back to the car...bastard pinch flat 2km from the end.
Tried three dynaplugs before attempting the tube. Almost fully inflated when the entire valve parted company with the tube.
Otherwise a fantastic morning ride.
Friday 13th much?
Hope you have more luck 😂
That is a proper ring dim 😬
Road ride Saturday morning for us three boys of the house and then eldest on club ride Sunday, which I couldn't even dream of keeping up on.
Tube? What's that?
It's the thing I tried after I couldn't get the tubeless set-up to hold air.
Had intended to get out early and do a big ride in the Peak, but by the time I'd finished off some work stuff left over from yesterday, plus a few domestic chores, that wasn't really on the cards. Decided to do the classic Ramsgill/Scar House loop just out of Pateley Bridge. Never done it before, was a bit frustrating as I'd not left myself enough time for the full loop, parked too far away, and so I had to cut out some of the best stuff and trundle back along the road. Also took the wrong bike really (it's an XC loop really; wish I'd brought the HT instead). Anyway, great to be out, stunning weather and fab scenery ...
Oh. And, I didn't get a puncture, but I did either burp some air, or had a leaky valve, on my midweek ride on Wednesday...
Rather have had a puncture than the wasp that took residence in the side of my Dropframe helmet. Ungrateful stripey little shit didn't appreciate the ride for some reason and let me know it's displeasure at least 5 times before I managed to slow down from 25mph to a stop and throw my helmet on the ground
Fixed the rim up. Found an old tyre that held air and came back for another go.
Met a lad building sketchy trails. Made it round in one piece.
Quick local blast before the in-laws arrived for Fathers Day weekend. Conditions great after this week's little bit of wetness has dried out super quick.
My wife has been working overtime this weekend, so I've been on dad duty. Managed to get a ride in this arvo at Bedgebury forest on the xc route.
I usually ride 1st thing in the morning, but oh my lordy was it busy this afternoon!
Loads of dads with their young sons, which is fantastic to see, but people riding the wrong way on the red routes and families walking with their dogs down the routes added some unwanted stress to the ride! If only there was a load of sign posts telling them which way to ride, and that dogs aren't allowed!
Anyway, managed 18 miles in just under 2 hours, I was planning on doing more, but didn't fancy any more close calls!
Lucky enough to get 2 rides in, Saturday with my son, Sunday with my partner. What could be better?!
Son on the new QECP red trail jump. He wasn’t impressed (crap landing spot, apparently. Not that I’d know)

Both days on the new SL. Turning out to be a rather awesome purchase.

Last ride before we set of to Europe for our next trip later this week.
Bikes have been fettled and needed a last ride to dial everything back in.
Out and back on Cutgate. It was hot, loose, rocky, dry and dusty. The trail is in as near perfect for blasting down.
A fairly quiet weekend for me on the riding front as most of the weekend was spent in the beer tent at Stonehaven Beer Happening.
We did however do the gravel ride they had organised on the Saturday.
Just over 60KM/1200Meters and it absolutely pissed it down the whole way.
No pictures from that as if I'd have got my phone out it would never have worked again.
Fantastic fun though even with a raging hangover.
Stretched the weekend out this morning with a 1000Meters of Golfie fun.
