It's that time again already.
The weekend ride picture thread.
Now resigned to the winter conditions setting in for the foreseeable.
Show us your pics with a few words about the ride.
25km/1100meters and just ticked over for a double Everest this month.
I managed an actual ride at Wharncliffe today after yesterday's blowout. Not much mud but the moisture got right up there.
First time riding riding proper steep tech stuff on the e-bike and it wasn't too bad apart from the howling brakes.
It was so wet, I was afraid my waterproof phone would expire if I dared take it out. Full mudhugger rear guard stops the trousers mink issues.
Definitely shitty arse edition. Left the house and just did one of those rides where I had no plans. Thought about heading into the Ochils, but headed in the direction of the Lomonds instead. 40 odd miles, everyone i met stopped for a chat. Was a great ride and the heavy rain and headwind waited for the last 10 miles
After a few inches of rain this week the trails were mint this morning. A pleasant change from the dust of the last few weeks...if only it would stay this way.
Rode with another dad while kids were doing their thing. He normally rides ebikes but is still fit so chose lots of techy climbs. Pushed each other pretty hard. Great ride.
Wet one this morning. Weather looked to be ok but started just as I was setting off. Quick change of clothes before riding
No rear mudguards in winter! What are you lot thinking,/?
42km out from North Leeds this morning over to Otley Chevin for some enduro-lite runs on the HT.
Had newly fitted a Win-Wing - which seems to work well, my arse was relatively clean, but the rest of me was filthy; the trails have definitely turned over ...
Home from holidays yesterday - bah! Shocking amounts of rain in the past day, so headed to a trail centre with a friend for some all weather trails. Thank goodness. I’ve ridden wet trails many times (I live in Belfast after all!), but today took the biscuit! Still, it didn’t rain - the day itself was lovely.
A great day at Wharncliffe today. The trails there are so different to what I usually ride, I'd forgotten how steep and rocky it is! Enjoyed being out of my comfort zone a bit, a lot of the black trails feel way above my skill level though! Actually really enjoyed the rocky bit toward the end of the Crags, wouldn't mind doing more of that kind of tech riding. Nice and easy to find my way around too, I kind of did a loop of the whole area and picked out the trails I fancied with the help of Trailforks. Favourites were all the reds - Alec & Thora was so fun, as was Wharncouver. Zesty was fun but steeper/ruttier than expected, Red Dot and Vajazzle were a bit "I can't believe I made it down in one piece" 🙂
@_tom_ glad you found your way round and had a good ride. I'm heading there tomorrow morning.
I headed to the Peak with the Mrs this afternoon before a belated birthday dinner in the Old Hall, Hope.
I seem to have ended up on my arse at Woburn. Twice.
And a lot of fun it was 🤣
Wasn't really planning a ride today. Reeksy1 had organised shuttles with his mates at a local DH spot so I went along...but chose to ride sketchy moto chutes and tech instead.
Bonus incredibly average GoPro of most of the Alec & Thora trail 🙂 didn't fancy trying the jump over the rocks or the final chute this time!

Torrential rain on last nights ride. Didn't dare get my phone out. Loads of sniper roots in hiding in the dark. Great fun though, felt really good on the bike.
Waiting for this mornings rain to stop to see what state the van seat covers are in! Wet rides when it's mild are great fun.
Jealous of all the riding. A combination of half term and minging weather meant I got out for a few rides at Haldon Forest and some walking/scrambling with the twins an then managed a solid day of trail repair and digging on the one day they were at holiday club. Roll on next week when I’m over the cold and they’re back at school.
Had to cut the route short today as I've got a mystery reoccurring knee pain and the wind was starting to pick up which makes the trailer feel like a parachute. We still managed 17 miles though, and the little one loved getting muddy.
After a Spring and Summer spent riding in cheat mode, I can confirm that normal service has resumed at Aberfoyle.
Still has a fun ride. Trails running well despite the rain, new tyres making things much more survivable and wet weather gear holding up nicely.
Not terribly wet down here, a few puddles but the trails are still hard pack under a thin layer of slop.
Paddling the ford on the track from Claerddu bothy back to the car at Claerwen dam. It wasnt by any means shitty muddy, but there's lots of unavoidable puddles on said track. And the ford was unrideable due to overnight rain making it probably 15" deep. I carried my BOB trailer, then went back through and carried the bike afterwards. All good fun though.
No riding for us. Got offered a cheap holiday to Soul on the Reef in Tenerife from someone who unfortunately couldn't go and couldn't cancel.
Not something we would have done but on impulse took up the offer, swapped everything over, and flew out this morning. One of the advantages of retirement we hadn't thought about 😎
Short day ride from home today. My first really bad pedal leg interaction today. Hoped in the bath to made sure it’s all clean and small piece of skin floated past
46 road miles on the wet muddy lanes of Derbyshire this morning. PDW fenders meant my arse was shitty free, but the bike needed a good clean afterwards.
I'm up in Borrowdale but had a road ride over Whinlatter and Newlands rather than doing the bash to avoid the hordes of walkers.
Tuesday was new bike day - Sonder Camino on c2w 😎
Inaugural ride today out around the Washburn valley. Autumn colours were beautiful and aside from a couple of sloppy bits, not really all that much mud.
Still a few bits need doing to the bike to to get it exactly how I want it, but it rides lovely out of the box.
Quite a bit different to my previous pickenflick - more confident on the descents and power transfer also seems better. The 1x13 leccy gears is teh awsumz.
Loam tastic. Lethal with a wet cover of leaves.
Yes there is a trail here. Curves to the right:
Working on an easier way to end the new trail I've restored and diverted:
The view is across the slope before it heads straight down
Anybody recognise this?

May be wanting a longer term review on this in a few months time!
Some coaching with Adam/Skillsloop at Cannock yesterday (no pics), then a quick local spin this morning to practice some of it. Glorious sunshine, but the local mud is starting to make its presence felt underwheel... Didn't make drilling my jumps and drops skills that easy (second pic is me still getting it all kinds of wrong)...
Still on my old Pickenflick. It's been a brilliant bike for the last 8 years. 30km sunset Gravel this afternoon ...
Apologies for those edited photos up there ^^^
Some of my original pics were a bit dark, so did a quick edit before uploading, but they're perhaps a bit 'over-enhanced'! 😬

Can tell they've been bumped up, but they look good

Don't sweat it. If I apologised for every over-processed photo I posted I'd never get anything else done (but my post total would be twice as big)!
Good to see Pitmedden getting a mention there and the mossy green bridge in Mr Grims pic I think I crossed it last night in the wild wind n rain on Falkland estate and down to Strathmiglo
No wet arse for me with my sks on the gravel bike keeping me dry
Such a good feeling when you get your mojo back
Where are you based Mr Grim ? I'm cycling from Kettlebridge
wet ride on Sunday around the lakes with the father in law trying his new e-bike. I went over the bars unfortunately and have probably done my ribs
