First ride on the Ebike for a while for me this morning.

Greasy as **** in places but no bike washing involved so I'm taking that as a win.

Show us all what you've been up to?

Get Out And Ride Before It All Turns To Shit Again

Surely we've got a few weeks left?

Doesn't quite count as weekend but it was lovely yesterday evening - stars out, did a quick loop of lantern pike.

Bunking off work a bit early to head over to FOD this afternoon for exactly that reason - these decent conditions can only last so long.

I hadn't really done any public transport-based leg annihilation this year... So today was the day!

It was very good.

I am a bit tired now.

Absolutely mint route, miles and miles of trails sprinkled with tech. First time I've had an axs ****up on a ride. Lost shifting on cut gate (mech battery dead) had to spin like, er, **** down the tpt to make the train back to Leeds... <1 min to spare!

Great day out ?

Bit of a messy one. Out at Hiddenvale Adventure Park.

Mate got stretchered out with a few breaks and nasty concussion and it was 35 degrees so heart rates through the roof. Some serious hills and stupidly fast shenanigans.

Camping tonight and then do it all again tomorrow  (minus ambulance hopefully)

After 3 weeks off rehab'ing elbow tendonitis (which to be fair I had before I went to Molini and smashed said elbow down rocky trails for a week, so I know there would be a price to pay for that).

Had an easy ride yesterday and a slightly longer one today. 100 day fitness things means my aerobic side is fine, but my legs were dead. It's so easy to lose MTB fitness if you're not, er, MTBing. So good to be back riding. Really missed it and conditions were amazing considering all that rain

Sun is still out in the valley so making the most of it.

Another ride with no bike washing required.

Feed The Pony pushup track is so different with no trees.

It's opened up a great view of the valley.

Out in surrey hills for the first time in months. Lovely day and mainly dry trails (apart from some monster puddles scattered around - I don’t think i’ve seen yoghurt pots as wet as it was today but most of the other trails were bone dry ).

After two days of no riding due to the strong winds we managed to get out in the hills and trails north of Orange to do some exploring. Found quite a bit of sweet single track. Had to negotiate fallen trees, a snapped chain and an Elmer Fudd moment when we popped out of a trail to find a man with a gun.
Cracking day out for our last ride in France for a while

Absolutely cheating with a chilly, dry, sunny little road ride with my best man/longest suffering mate - we think it's 43 years now.

Only 20 miles as he's not at his fittest. Possibly because we stopped at Tagg Lane Dairy for an excellent flat white and a truly mind blowing scoop raspberry cheesecake ice cream made with milk from their Jersey herd, and then finished with a full English at Hartington.

Feeling loads better covid recovery wise, which is a massive relief. I had visions of months of recovery time.

Rowberrow Warren on the Mendips for me yesterday. Not too gloopy / bike wasn’t bad enough for me to try washing it afterwards - main trails all running great, with the bit that is graded red in the dry / black in the wet a bit slippery. Pinging about on roots and rocks with no grip whatsoever - but it was fun (it’s not really a black whatever the sign says).

Weather was glorious - sun and blue skies

Fabulous photos.

Elated me went out for my first mtbike ride in 14 months. Excellent mostly dry trails from the Roman Lakes at Marple over to Hayfield, via Mellor,New Mills, Aspenshaw Hall and the Pennine Bridleway under Lantern Pike. Great weather, company and finishing with cake. Although the Sett Valley cafe was so busy and the queue was so long, we missed the hot food cut off time.

Sadly no photos as my friend has them on Strava and I'm not on Strava hahaha.

Oh and hello to the chap that we chatted to, who  works for Cotic bikes, riding a raw steel FS. Very interesting.

Another 34 degree sweatfest for me with mates. A no ambulance day fortunately...though we did pick up a mate from the hospital on our way home (3 ribs and a collar bone in the end).

43km of singletrack with some horrible climbing and amazing descents. Stopped at the phonebox halfway up Dialled In and then flew past it again on the way down. Endless pisstaking as a mate got another two punctures.

Tough day out on the bike today.

43km off-road with some ace bits and some proper slogs.

Sadly I've been struggling with some issues at the moment and I wasn't sure if I'd puke, shit my pants or give birth to an alien for most of the ride.

Finished it in 30th out of 58, which wasn't bad considering how ****ing rubbish I was.

The only saving grace was that my tech riding was super, on the woods section I was flying and hitting everything with fun.

No hills on this evening's ride (one of the segments is called flat as a pancake) but bumpy terrain and with some footpaths having been cut back meant I quite enjoyed it and pedalled with enthusiasm, even overtaking a car at one point because I could go faster on the very potholed gravel track than they could!

Yum. The only time we cycled over to that ice cream parlour was on a cold, wet, windy day. Ended up having to have hot chocolate. Must get back there soon for a scoop or two before winter.
