I forgot to take pics today! Going again tomorrow so will try to remember. They'll basically be the same as mine always are, so shouldn't take much imagination, if i forget again.
I didn’t even get the date right ☹️
I'm definitely posting in a thread with a made-up date! 😉
Headed up to Stainburn for a couple of hours this morning with a mate to try and session a few tricky (for me, and him) sections. Usually, if I dab/put a foot down/walk, I just carry on to the next run, but it was good stopping, looking, trying to problem-solve, and repeating. Some things worked, others didn't.
Another fairly hectic week at work, but not as bad as last week. Made up for slacking by decorating in the evenings 🤨
so riding has been a bit limited
Nevermind though, gravel mooch through the slop on't way home today
Also, quite excitingly, it was the first off road ride home in the light of the year! Ace! (Well I did have lights on for the last couple of miles when duak started to fall, but it was only so cars could see me and that)
You wouldn't think it looking at the trail, but i think i managed to take a pic of the only bit on my route that wasn't 99% a puddle!
Loved it, even though I had to hosepipe myself down before I was allowed indoors!
XC ride with Mrsstu.
Managed to stay dry for most of the ride.
Then 3/4 of the way in that changed dramatically.
Sun was out though and 40KM/1000 Meters. Rather enjoyable.

Just a quick ride on the local fireroads on Cavehill, it it was great to be out.

Stunning views!
A bit sloppy in the FoD today but the Hill Billy was so good I didn't need to think about it all day, unlike my mate who was paddling like a toddler on a balance bike a few times... 🤣
Cwmcarn - both trails. It's such a hard day even tho it's less than 900m climbing. Trusty's pics as he was going faster than me 🙂 We took one of the semi-official off piste blacks to finish. Really good, well built, engaging, not instant death and a nice ride back along the canal. Garmin reckons I need 4 days to recover 😉
Sun was out so after two gym classes we loaded up and went up to Langsett to ride Cut Gate out and back. First time this year and the Winter has exposed more of the rocks. Not many out to say it's probably the best weather for riding we have had this year
It's always good to be up in the hills
@Tracey, how was it riding, eg after the flags down to Slippery Stones, and North America? I know we've a big dump of rain due tomorrow, but I'm hoping to get up there Friday next week.
Lap and a half of Gisburn on the single speed. Didn't feel very strong but watch says it was a bit faster than normal. Sunny but quite puddly and nice to see lots of half term families out. New-ish Lake boots are warm and comfy and now a bit grubby.
Pure sludgefest in the peak but great fun

Not technically the weekend, but it's been half term so like a 9 day weekend for me. Quick lap of Whinlatter on Tuesday. First time on anything properly bumpy since the hand injury and another little test passed (grip strength is still nowhere near 'normal' but enough to easily keep hold of the bars over the rocks). Beautiful day - shame the rest of the week in The Lakes wasn't quite as nice, but then it is February...
@hardtailonly It's all riding suprizingly well for the time of year considering the amount of water that's been put down this Winter.
The last bit of repaired trail at the top of North America doesn't seem to be draining as well but a few dry windy days should help.
Lovely day yesterday - we were out walking so no riding. Spring definitely in the air.
Early start today to squeeze a ride in before the wind and rain. Trip down the jumps to get my eye back in before a trip to BPW in a few weeks. They were riding pretty well despite it being quite wet elsewhere. Loads of work has gone in over the winter (again!) Thanks to the trail builders.
Hit some new (to me) steep jumps. Felt like I was riding pretty well but I need to pull more/lean back more on the takeoff to get more height. Think I'm squashing them a bit (despite trying not to)
One day we'll do this one.... Flipping huge.
Great stuff 👍
Weather dry but grey and increasingly windy on the Ditchling ridge. Stanmer more sheltered, but a bit claggy. What % extra effort does clag add to a ride?
