So when I got my bike (Bird Zero 29) back in May, the bar setup was 25mm on top of the headset, 40mm stem and 800mm bars with 20mm rise.
After the second ride out I got some serious pain on the outside of my left wrist.
I cut the bars down to 775 and it went away.
I’ve recently put on 35mm riser bars and dropped 5mm off the stack height to gain a bit more height for manuals etc. Without reducing the reach by continually lifting the stack.
But after my last ride the left wrist pain came back.
Any advice?
drop saddle a little
Try some bars with a bit more back sweep
I get wrist pain in the MTB, and I've tried everything from 9 degree (standard bars) to 45 degree (Jones).
Ended up settling on between 15 & 20 degrees as optimal for me.
Thanks guys, just sat on he bike. Totally bad bio-mechanics. Dropped the angle on the brakes a little, which has straightened my hands a bit more too.
