I’m going to partially wrap a new frame (top tube, chain stays, seat tube and down tube). Any alternatives to Heli Tape out there ? I want to try a dry application tape, would standard 3M tape work if put on slowly without air bubbles ? Last time I tried Heli Tape I thought it was quite a faff and hard to work with.

Any partical reason for not using Invisframe/HKT/Dyedbro/Indi-print/Ride Wrap/etc? Ignoring the spendy (but really good) bespoke kits, the generic ones are really good and already cut to fit bikes

I just use a decent quality clear waterproof tape. It's not as good as helitape, takes a bit if patience and sometimes comes off and needs re doing but I bought 10 roles in a sale at wickes once and it's what I have. It's a pain when you come to remove it and there's sticky residue left on it but it comes off.

I think it's 5cm wide

Its protected frames and forks for years. Still got 7 roles left 🤣
