want to get a dropper, Merlin have 10% off this weekend with a promo code in an email, so the old style reverb is about £157.
Thing is i've read so many reliability issues and returns i'm not sure if its worth it!
Budget is upto £200, so Spec Commapnd post is another option which seems reliable, but only has 3 height settings. Is the 35mm drop a good height, and is it easy to find this height on the post when riding?
Also with the command post, as it only has set heights its more important to get the right dropper size? So how to choose between 100 and 125mm?
Cheers all
Very happy with my command post. The mid position is easy to find. IMO it's the perfect setup with as its easy and quick to snap it into the 3 positions and they are all good riding positions. Quite important to get the right height as you use the extremes more.
If you have room for 125 don't see the point of getting less, bottom position is not for sitting its getting the saddle out of the way, no disadvantage to getting it more out of the way.
Only problem would be if it was too long and you couldn't get it low enough at the max height. Probably only an issue for shorter people or odd frames with high seat clamps.
I have the IRCC Command Post, and if I remember correctly, the middle setting actually has 12 possible locking points in a short distance. I assume this is to make it easy to stop the post in that rough position when you're on the go - which it is - rather than to fine tune your saddle height by a mm up or down once in that middle bit.
Yes I bought two on discount a few months ago, selling my old ones.
I accept something will probably go wrong with them eventually but they have a two year warranty which is apparently hassle free.
