You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Evening,
I recently invested in the above after my Mobi finally conked. I'm generally impressed with it, when it works. However, it seems to be very inconsistent in drawing water. It came with a 10m hose which I dunk in a 20L jerry can. It'll be absolutely fine, and then start struggling with getting water up and losing power.
Quite annoying really.
Anyone experienced this and have any thoughts? The only solution I can think of is cutting the hose right down to a few meters, but I'm a bit reluctant to do that at the moment.
Cheers.
If the float is too near the end of the hose it comes out the water - maybe attach something heavy to the end to make sure it sinks?
Are you turning the nozzle to 0 and letting it draw water first before changing the setting?
When I got mine, I read that's how you need to start it off in the manual. After it has a consistent flow, you can change the mode.
Mine did this. I emailed worx who suggested...
- Place the Hydroshot flat to the ground while the tube is in the water, Turn it on and hold the trigger between 1 - 2 minutes.
- Fully submerge the tube to clear out any air locks
- Make sure the hex hose connector is tool tightened
- Both filters are clear of any debris
Tightening the hose connector where the inlet hose enters the hydroshot fixed mine.
Cheers to all, will give this a whirl. Especially hadnt seen the advice on turning it to 0, as I hadn't bothered reading the manual as per.
I had this issue and, like SL2000, it was the connector on the bottom of the gun that just needed nipping up. Perfect since then.
Si
I had the loose hex fitting problem on mine too, tightened it back up and it's been fine since. I did cut the hose down too, as full length was totally unecessary for my use.
Sounds like a common problem, cheers. Just to clarify, are we talking the black twisty thing on the actual hose, or the connector that's actually on the gun itself?
It's the orange bit on the gun itself that I've removed in this photo...
Glad I read this, will try the setting to zero trick next time.
Mine takes a minute or so to get going but then is usually consistent unless it gets a mouthful of air by accident.
Thanks, appreciate the effort putting a pic up.
