[Closed] worn hub axle in cartridge bearing

One for the specialists here:

Disassembled my Pro Lite Bracciano rear hub to change the bearings. On the non drive side the axle has been rotating independently of the bearing and is no longer a tolerance fit. It's not sloppy but you can slide it on and off easily.
Rather than buy a new axle is there something like a glue that I could put on this worn axle part so that it sits nice and tight in its new cartridge bearing inner surface?

Some Googling has revealed that superglue might work. Its hard to find the right search phrase to find more specific information though.

Stud and Bearing fit is designed for that sort of job, available from your local engineering suppliers/tool shops/motor factors.

so the bearing seized and the axle has been turning in the inner race? How much has it worn off?

That is a fair question jonv. As it tends to be the thinnest/weakest point and adding in a stress raiser of a worn part you might have issues down the line

On one hand, if a bearing seized completely and the axle was turning in an interference fit I'd have thought that would be noticeable fairly quickly, so I might assume that the OP would spot it and be looking at it before much has been done to damage it. Maybe not while riding, but in the stand? And I also realise, a ride could be 10's of thousands of revs

On the other, if the new bearing is now loose enough to need stud and bearing fit, it sounds like it has worn to some degree.

I'd be after a new axle, if I'm honest.
