The Worlds RR Champs are being held in the Glasgow/Edinburgh areas in early August next year.
Why the date change? This year they are a few weeks early, traditionally they have been pretty much the last races of the year, yet next year is before the Vuelta.
What's the reason?

You pretty much answered your own question. They’re in Scotland! August is the best(but still slim) chance of it not been a freezing cold wash out.

The real reason is that for the first time, all the UCI world champs are being held in the same host city at the same time. BMX, MTB, Road, Track and more all in “Glasgow”. In reality they are spread about a bit to get an appropriate venue, much like happens with the Olympics. August probably works out as the best compromise for all the disciplines. World champs often vary in an Olympic year, so not unusual for it to be earlier than expected.

I'm not going to complain. Pretty excited at the opportunity to watch the Road Worlds and DH Worlds in person, a week apart!

Also still school holidays - so local crowds, lighter road traffic.

Time-trial is in Stirling.
