Brit rider Tom Pidcock got 5th in the Junior Men's this morning, the U23 women's race is about to start and the Elite Women about 2pm.
Men's races tomorrow.
More info on the Brit riders on the British Cycling site:

The weather looks atrocious - windy and pouring with rain!
Is this on any tv channel at all?
Eurosport tonight...
Brilliant ride by Pidcock, if only he was gridded. And then a superb performance in the U23s by Evie Richards.
Good luck Nikki Harris.
Brilliant ride by Pidcock, if only he was gridded.
Another lap and he'd have won that, the speed he was going through the field.
That U23 race was great, lets see how the Elite Women get on this afternoon. Course looks brutal, especially in that weather!
?? 🙁The uploader has not made this video available in your country.
(or is it offline at the moment ?)
Offline at the moment, back on live at 1.50 for the Elite Women.
The highlights videos usually appear about 2 days afterwards.
And as mentioned above, Eurosport 2 about 8.30pm tonight.
And then a superb performance in the U23s by Evie Richards.
A very subtle mention of a new WORLD CHAMPION
it was the highlights I was trying to watch - they're on the UCI site but clicking on the link shows the unavailable in your country message
Great results from GB so far, again top ride form Pidcock,
As for Evie, way to go, 1st cross race abroad, riding a old frame/bike from Katie Compton and getting on the top step, great riding,
Woman should be another good race for GB!
Aracer - spoilers! I was just coming here to post the same.
Aracer - spoilers!
Ooh, sorry I didn't think that - but then I doubt anybody is waiting to see the highlights of the U23 women's race
does this work for other people in the UK ? :
Nikki Harris going well in the early stages of this.
Interesting to see the vast majority of the riders on disc brakes now.
This is a brilliant race, really tense!
who needs disc brakes 🙂
Scaredypants, that link works for me no problem.

funnily enough that same site let me watch the women's race live just now but that link and all other non-live content is still off for me
Bit of a face on 3rd place. Needs to do some sportsmanship training I think
If you looked how Sanne Cant walked off the podium she was in massive pain, in spring she was run over by a tractor causing hip damage and this season suffered with muscle damage to her rib area, so not poor sportsmanship, been riding all season, last big race of the season and to not go as well as she would have hoped is a massive mental blow for an athlete at that calibre.
Wasn't aware of that, so fair enough. Though having read up on last year, she seemed to have a moan about being beaten by part time CXers, so there is some form there.
Also if I'd been run over by a tractor and then got 3rd in a Worlds, I reckon I'd be quite chuffed. Or at least hope I'd put my toys back in my pram and force a smile for the podium
Evan when she does win she won't get a modeling contract for her smile it's a rare sight.
To think some of us are happy racing in local little races and finishing in the to half is a good day out.
Brilliant racing today, amazing result for Evie....
Sanne Cant often looks very miserable when things don't go her way!
remind yourself how happy Cav looks when hes just been beaten in the sprint at the finish of a race.
Given that they were on the podium 5 mins after race end, its no surprise that she looked a bit sick having just missed the chance to win the championship.
She finished 2nd last year.
Brilliant race. Mani is like a female Voeckler and hard to dislike, the patriot in me wanted Harris to win, and the romantic in me wanted Cant or Compton (who wasn't in the running).

she'd just been beaten in a down-to-the-wire sprint on that occasion, and for years she's carried the pressure of the CX-mad Belgian public and press. They were criticising her earlier in this season for being a full-time pro and getting beaten by a part-time school teacher (Jolien Verschuren), which prompted Wyman to speak up in a post-race interview (in stilted Dutch) in Cant's defence, and also blog about it
http://www.helenwyman.com/2015/12/life-is-about-choices/
As white101 says, think back to Cav interviews and quotes when he's been beaten (like Griepel only wins "shit small races").

Pidcock commented that with a better grid and a bit of luck he should have won. Commanding ride from Richards and an endearing interview.
Just hope the mens race can live up to it tomorrow!
Mani was full of fight today, very plucky ride which ended with a deserved podium, i was shouting her on, due to the sad fact we both use Clement tubulars.
The u23 and elite mens races tomorrow have got a lot to live up to after today's excellent racing.
Great racing, shame about the weather! I may dry out at some point...

😀 I recently bought some Clement PDX clinchers, though they have found there way on to Munqe Chick's race bike, so I have repeatedly pointed out that she is riding the same tyres as Mani and has no excuses! I'm also thinking of rocking pink bar tape on my blue bike next year.
Great racing, shame about the weather! I may dry out at some point...
It's cross, it's supposed to be grim! When it was properly raining it looked like it was riding better, it was wet splashy mud that ran off rather than thicker stuff that clogged (didn't see any bike changes) and the U23 lap times were quicker than most of the Elites who had a (relatively) drying course.
A very subtle mention of a new WORLD CHAMPION
Was trying to avoid any spoilers 😉 , it was a commanding performance, and would have given her 5th place in the elite race (maybe better considering she backed off on the last lap) which is an outstanding result!
Elite men; I'm going for, van der Poel, van Aert, (heart says Sven) head says Meeusen or Pauwels.
Pleased I'm not the only one thinking about next seasons bike setup. I went a bit mad when I bought my Clements, pair of pdx and mxp tubs and a pair of pdx, mxp and las tyres for spare wheels so the tyres can be changed to match what I'm racing on tub wise with the las's just in case we have a super summer. Only trouble is having spare wheels has started the thought of spare bike!
Back on topic, bet the Belgium press wrong be glowing reading about today's activity, they will be desperate for either a Sven or Van Aeart win tomorrow. I just hope we don't get the booing that Stybar received the other year, because M. Van deer Poel looks in good form.
Just watched full replay of the Women's Elite race (using Chrome Proxy plugin to get around the geographical restrictions on the UCI channel). Cracking race, really enjoyed it.
Electric motor found in one of the Belgian women's bike 🙁
I thought you was joking, but it's on several news feeds on Facebook, bit of a shocker if that's true.
Confirmed by UCI.
confirmed they've kept hold of the bike, not that theyve found anything?

similar top 3 pick - VDP, VA, Meeusen.
Great results for all of gb so far. Sadly I can't get any of the vids to work, f-ing Eurosport.

Love my clement pdx clinchers, soon as the officially tubeless versions come out I'm buying the full sweep for next season - plus a spare set of wheels 😀
Can't believe the motor story, hope it's not true.
Mechanical Doping.
What a joke.
It's probably something like the seat is too far forward or something 🙄

Install https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/proxy-for-chrome then set to russian or dutch and all of the full race replays and highlights on the UCI youtube channel work fine.
Looks like more than just an out-of-spec set up: used google translate on the Sporza.be article and it seems pretty clear it's a positive "mechanical doping" finding with quotes from the likes of Vos and the Belgian Federation and coach
Yep, Nikki Harris tweeted that she 'would definitely place a bet' that the rider was using mechanical doping at Koppenberg earlier in the year...
The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) confirms that pursuant to the UCI's Regulations on technological fraud a bike has been detained for further investigation following checks at the Women's Under 23 race of the 2016 UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships. This does not concern any of the riders on the podium. Further details will be shared in due course.

I love the fact someone at the start said words to the effect of "not sure people will log on to watch Women's U23"! IT was set to the one of the MOST exciting and competitive races more than any other, amazingly it wasn't but it was fine as Evie RICHARDS SMASHED IT in her first International race I mean WTF!! I watched her at the Nationals and just WOW
That women's Elite race I think my HR was 180+ especially as Harris took the race on and at one point looked like she had a commanding lead. Amazing how the smallest of technical errors and you can be seriously reeled back in!!
Phenomenal racing 4 GB women in the top 15 U23 in the Worlds...that is just awesome.
I hope the Elite men's tomorrow is as exciting but I'm afraid to say I don't think it will be!!!
With all due respect to U23 womens 'cross, if people are using motors there, what on earth are Tinkoff-Saxo / Astana doing when the stakes (money) is higher?
I'm hoping it's a one off, but if the technology is available and being used, despite the tests*, at this level then I'm concerned for the sport as whole,
* presumably her and her mechanic thought they wouldn't get caught?

the risk of getting caught is higher as UCI have been examining and X-raying Pro Tour bikes since 2010 and

maybe at a lower level they believe there will be less testing? Look at British Juniors and Masters getting popped for EPO and steroids
every man on the street has heard of EPO, but people racing at lower levels don't expect to be monitored and tested as stringently?

No-one yet seems really sure it was actually a motor. It would be relatively easy to conceal a small motor with a tiny battery (long enough to last 30 mins or so in a CX race) and the relative noise of the crowd, the noise of the bike over rough terrain and the fact that the whole thing will be covered in mud enough to disguise it and in a technical race like that it could make a significant difference.
But in a 5hr road stage where conditions are completely different, where a rider is in amongst a peloton and tactics play a bigger part I think it'd be more trouble than it's worth. Battery wouldn't last long enough for it to be worthwhile, it would be much more difficult to hide the noise, you'd have to be very clever with bike changes...

You wouldn't need 5hrs, an extra 50w for 5 mins up the Cauberg could win you a rainbow jersey (for example).
The battery may be powered by a Dynamo type charging system or even Solar?
I love the fact someone at the start said words to the effect of "not sure people will log on to watch Women's U23"!
I presume you're referring to my comments, and to be fair I suggested I wasn't expecting people to be avoiding the results of the U23 race to watch it later - most people in the local club she belongs to were watching it live (quite a few out in Belgium), and plenty of spoilers posted on the club FB page! I certainly wasn't suggesting it wasn't likely to be exciting, simply that I expected the interest to be somewhat limited.
Is the men's race 2pm UK time?
Yes it is, 2pm for the Elite men's race.

Of course those pesky eastern Europeans are bound to be cheating 🙄
Great Womens Elite race, had me gripped when Nikki went off the front, some really good skills and thinking tactics in what was a difficult course.
Great overall result I reckon.
cruel but I had to laugh 🙂
Nailbiting stuff this U23 Men's race!
I feel so sorry for that poor Czech rider, what must he be thinking right now?!
oh dear 🙁
I suppose he might not have had the same advantage if he had raced the extra lap but the last half mile of "his" finishing lap was impressive
Poor lad. The Belgian crowd did laugh a bit though...
What time is men race?
Youtube stream starts at 1.50pm, race starts at 2pm. 45 minutes time.
thanks , should be a good one .
Crowd going wild as Sven Nys finally gets on terms with the front group. 🙂
Brilliant race so far
Jack Clarkson has withdrawn, he had a crash on one of the descents. Think Liam Killeen is somewhere around about 40th at the moment.
What did the fans do to the Dutch guy? The commentators kept mentioning it, but I didn't see anything...
Threw beer in his face mostly
What a finish!
cracking race.
cracking finish, shame for VDH, didnt have the running legs on that final hill. Incredible bike handling, He was taking some of those descents like he was on a full-on MTB!
Thank you. Yes, great race!
Incredible. Particularly impressive for Van Aert given how much he got held up by somebody sticking a foot in his spokes. I think the beer throwing is pretty much par for the course for Belgian cross races, so they're probably used to it - which doesn't make it right. Though looking on the plus side for VdH, he's got a head start on the post race beer drinking 😉
Those that run MTB races take note....how to make a bike race spectator friendly
Cracking race,I hope they get to make CX an Olympic event.

with lots for your starting position.
Well what a pair of races, simply map biting the pair of them. Impressed with the strength of a zipp wheel, thought they had both blown their chances at that point. What happens to M van der Poel being in 3rd and then coming in fifth, did he have an off or a slight mechanical?
i think he blew up from the all out effort to get back on
mad descending skills at the end, shame he didn't get the win, that pass was class

It could have been 200 miles from civilization,at an undisclosed time,on an island with no ferry and guarded by machine gun wielding ex-traffic wardens.
50,000 half cut Belgians would still have turned up 2 days early and proceeded to have the biggest party ever. It's in their DNA.
Sitting in Brussels airport. Haven't quite dried off from yesterday yet alone today but that was great.
The party sounded like it was only just getting going when we left. There were some very happy Belgians at the end!
Bloody great weekend..
Totally enjoyed the Women's race, such a great effort by Helen and how she carries on is quite beyond me 8)
Then the Men's race, just awesome to see Sven on the front for a lap, but my hope was for Lars to do it. He looked totally cooked on that last flat before the drop, but he still managed to chase hard on the finish straight.
But a great win in the end.
Awesome.
CX is awesome.
