November last year, I asked to cancel an order (I paid by paypal) and got a reply, thus-

"That is no problem, I have cancelled your order and issued a full refund into your account, it should show in the next 24hrs."

Now, I know how long a PP refund takes because I deal with PP payments every day, it's literally the press of a button unless there are insufficient funds to cover the full refund in which case it takes 5-7 working days. I was polite and patient* and sent a follow up email a day later because even if the refund is going to take 5-7 working days you (usually) get an email from PP and the refund shows as 'pending' in your account, no reply, another a couple of days after that and got continued radio silence. I just opened a PP request and did it that way.

* I was, really, I know what it's like running a small business, I know how impatient people can be and I know mistakes happen but I don't ignore requests for refunds or cancellations, they get processed as soon as I get them.

Hi Stu / anybody that has experienced slow communication and dispatch over the last 2 weeks, we are busier than usual and a few delayed (our fault) manufacturing runs has meant a disorganised time, so apologies go out for any inconvenience caused - If anybody is still waiting for a reply we will try to get to you as quickly as possible be that via email / facebook etc.

Kalya1 - I am very sorry to hear about the situation regarding your refund and would like to look into that at all possible (though we may not still have communication stored going back that far) - It is not a case I can remember being involved in myself (though I may be mistaken) as refunds etc are not something I would usually deal with so it would be good to see how we got such a simple thing so wrong here, it would most certainly not have been due to either attempting not to grant you the refund or due to low funds in Paypal though and would be human error - A simple case of the person not doing the job that was promised but of course the result is the same and you should not have had to take your own action.

Edit - Just taken a look into that Kayla, it appears your refund was promised on Monday 29th but not actually made until Thursday 1st (it does not look like paypal had any incolvement as the 'dispute' is still active so it was refunded manually and not 'forced' by paypal) so my apologies for that, when the person is back in the office on Tuesday I will be sure to raise the issue and prevent any such problems from taking place in the future.

Thanks, Rick
