All carbon. I have a standard Park work stand (lever action) but don't want to crush the frame. How do you work on such a bike?

Get a stand that clamps dropouts and BB 🙂

Some manufacturers do adapter clamps, Giant for example do one that clamps around their vector aero post and you then clamp onto that clamp.

E.g. http://www.pedalon.co.uk/acatalog/giant-carbon-seatpost-workstand-adapter.html?gclid=CJnfooyHos0CFdEy0wodz-kNGA

Hold it by the top tube and don't clamp it tight. Set the jaws horizontal or slightly front wheel down, and wind in the clamp until the moving jaw just touches the top tube.

You don't really need to clamp it tight for pretty much any job.

I was trying to avoid buying a new work stand, unless absolutely necessary.

That adaptor is for Giants: the bike is a Kuota

I would do this, and take it out every time I needed to do something like wail on the bottom bracket. Faffy but it'll work

You'll find that it fits most with the different adaptors & a damn sight safer than clamping the top tube!

The Giant one does come with a few different bungs for different seat posts. You might be lucky and one might fit 🙂

(Though I have 3 aero seat posts and it only fits the Giant one!)

Open the jaws wide and clamp the seat post front to back? Thats how I used to mount my Venge. The clamps on my stand are a V shape.

I've just tried resting the top tube in the clamp with it turned horizontally and it seemed to work OK for this purpose removing rear wheel to grease free hub and adjusting gears). I wrapped the top tube with a towel to make it a more snug fit.
