Hi all
I've not ridden Woburn for a fair few years since moving up north .
How are things there now ?
Thinking about a day visit
The green sands trust wanting 10 quid to ride Woburn side then another 10 quid to ride the other side of a5, does seem a bit like I'm having my trousers pulled down
I like the red trail, they've made good use of the low elevation and it doesn't really feel like too much of a "flat slog" if that makes sense, it has a good flow. I didn't enjoy the blue trail so much, though some of the fast downhill bits on it are good. My usual is to do a lap of the red then ride over to the DH trails to session them for a bit.
The costs are large. I think the council dropped the subsidy. The lack of a both area pass is crazy. But in think the models are different.
However there’s lots of good riding
I rode there loads .Well worth it if you know your way around

I used to ride there when there was no waymarking things look to have changed a little

It's not bad, better than Thetford. Fast lap of the red, session the bit in the middle then the DH trails and jumps are worth an afternoon if you're local. Chicksands or Pheonix can be more fun and similar value.
I used to ride there all the time when I worked nearby. I went for the first time in years a couple of weeks ago. First time since they built the 'red'. Paid a tenner for a pass for the day. Won't be doing that again.
I figured if it was a tenner for the day to ride Woburn, Stockgrove and Rushmere then it would be a good ride but £10 for each site is just ludicrous. I didn't venture into the bike park which might have made it better value but the red on its own wasn't worth the 45 minute drive each way, let alone the £10
the red + blue trail is fun if you're flat out all the way round
they never enforce the charge, like never
the church side has some great trails if you want a bit more gnar*
loads to ride with a bit of local knowledge
* its not the alps but still fun
The backwoods are great fun, the XC trail thingy is a bit rubbish but some like it.
Any locals care to share the off piste?

I'll try to explain some of the tracks as i remember. It probably wont make much sense
on the church side, ride down the path, turn left at the gate(?), some tracks down on the right but carry on,and turn left when you can. you soon get to a jubction, straight ahead is steep down path, but go right slightly, there's a track(1) very soon on the left to ride down through the trees. Or carry on (right) a bit and a couple more tracks on the left.
If youd gone straight on at the jubction,or take track(1),youd get down to a junction, take the left up steep track, beside a fence,at the top is a bench and a junction. There you have a choice of tracks on the right, or go straight on a bit and theres more tracks off to the right
I might have an old gpx somewhere

I'm sure I remember reading about access issues and a bit of land owner based conflict over the church side? Is that all sorted now?

I think it’s best to access that area from the bridleway at the other end. It currently looks like a builders yard and is close the the A5 junction. A quick look at the Strava heat map will help find stuff. But it’s not a big or complex area so just follow your nose. FYI the most obvious paths in the heat map are the ups
- I'll show ya round if it works
