I've got a Hope front hub which I assume is a Pro II. It came on a 2nd hand bike. It's 20mm with a maxle. And it's got a wobble.

This seems to be from the spacers on each side of the bearings. Bearings themselves seem fine, though I've only taken the spacers off to get my finger in there and wobble them about. What's going on? Do the spacers wear and do I just need new ones?

Spacers will wobble on hub but should clamp up tight.

They don't seem to. I tried tightening the maxle by screwing in the wee bolt on the end of it but it didn't make any difference.

Maxle knack?

IME you always seem to have a little wobble with a Maxle. 2 different wheels did the same for me, even with a new hub.

It's a little more than a little though I think. I'll see if I can get it tighter tonight

Sounds like its the bearings in the hub. A simple job even for a ham fisted one like myself.

Bearings seemed pretty solid though... they only moved the way they're supposed to?
