I re-hubbed a Reynolds wheel as there were no spares available.
Bought a Reynolds branded KT hub (the one with the pawls and springs in the hub body and the ratchet ring on the freehub) built the wheel and hey presto, the wheel has an audible clunk when moved side to side.
Stripped the hub, and the axle is not a tight f
it in the bearings.
Will a dab of bearing retaining compound (641) be sufficient?
For the time involved in would be sending it right back. If SH then try it, never heard of it needed in a hub.
Had similar issues with Mavic Crossmax (I think) hubs years back, retaining compound sorted those out far better tham Mavic's suggestion of jamming a shim washer in was ever going to.
