Hi folks
Had emergency wisdom tooth removal last Thursday afternoon. It was only one and came our cleanly.
Question is when can I resume hard exercise with max heart rate moments (and hence with high blood pressure and blood clot popping potential)?
Went out for an easy one with wife and son today and few times was tasty blood in mouth after “suction” moments
Anyone had any experience?
Google says light exercise until fully healed.
had a molar out couple of days ago. no bleeding issues. will take about 3 weeks for the gum to heal over but unless there is a proper issues I don't see why you can't ride after a couple of days. Gums heal pretty quickly and the blood should have clotted within 24 hours. Did you follow the instructions you were given by the dentist? no gargling, no hot drinks, soft food only etc
Following the dentist guidance but there appears to be room for interpretation on exercise and when to start
Everything been low key since Thursday and hoping for a pre Chris ride on Wednesday
25 years ago one of mine started bleeding profusely after hitting a pothole in my car. I don’t remember a problem with exercise though. Try a ride close to home and take plenty of tissues?
I'd mine removed at 14.
Probably unnecessary at that age but the orthodontist was himself removed from the dentistry register for doing unneeded work.
But hey ho, better out than in by all accounts 😕
I hope you avoid dry socket 😨

I was advised not to train for this reason
Years ago, I was on a flight home to the UK, from Seattle.
A couple of hours into the flight, the pilot asked "is their a doctor on board?" and shortly after this he announced that we were heading south, from Hudson Bay and heading for a medical emergency landing at New York (not sure what was wrong with Montreal)
Anyway, it turned out that a passenger had been for a double wisdom extraction, on the morning of the flight and several hours of reduced pressure showed this up as a bad idea.
During the enforced stop (fuelled by complementary booze) the doctor revealed that the incident was very serious, due to the amount of blood lost, and that the passenger was very lucky to survive.
It’s the dry socket I want to avoid. I might give any hard exercise a miss until after Christmas

I had all 4 out about 10 days ago, I have dry socket and I’m still in pain, it sucks, enjoy the rest and chill out
I'm two weeks on from a molar extraction followed by dry socket. I'm walking but not cycling yet as it can get a right throb-on if the blood starts pumping.
