Winter tights - waterproof, no pad?

I've been wearing the same old pair of Revolution windproof tights (well, they originally had a pad but I removed it) for years now and they are a very useful bit of kit, but they're knackered, and today's soaking on a cold early morning Z2 ride had me thinking about something a bit fancier.

I had a quick look and could find loads of thermal/roubaix type leggings with DWR coatings, which in my experience are next to useless in the rain.

Stolen Goat/Bioracer do Orkaan or Tempest tights, my Orkaan top is good but I'm very dubious about the water repellency claims, it just feels like a robust softshell which is better than nothing but the water still seems to soak in...

Ideally something that goes OVER the overshoes so water isn't funneled down, not sure why this isn't a standard feature to be honest...

Anything out there? Or do I just dig out my old waterproof chaps?  🤣

Have a look at running clothes maybe?

Endura Stealth was the thing. I still have a couple of the bibtights and they work well enough on the handful of occasions I use them each winter. Last time I looked, Pearl Izumi Amfib seemed to be the closest match but I've never tried them. I think you're probably into trying to find some close-fitting waterproof trousers - maybe for runners as suggested.

Pearl Izumi is the best I've found - the difficult bit being the lack of pad. Mine are amfib something-or-other. Quite sweaty and I'd say sprayproof rather than waterproof. Definitely windproof though.

I miss my old Endura Thermastat clip bib-longs. Double knees and arse and rubber waterproof shins to keep your lower legs dry.

I wish there were more tights out there with no pad. Bib shorts, tights over the top. Becoming increasingly difficult to find these days. Rapha used to do some excellent pad-less bib tights but sadly no more.

For commuting now, I've got some MTB trail trousers, they're better than any tights at being water repellent and they cover the top of my overshoes.

Probably not the answer for performance wear cos although they're relatively fitted and not flappy, they're still baggy enough to be noticeably less aero than tights but they keep me warm and dry!

Thanks all, great suggestions. The Pearl Izumi Amfibs appear to be available with no pad in either a tight or a big tight, seems ideal!

The Bioracer Tempest and Stolen Goat equivalents do come with a pad, and it's a very good pad that I'd happily do any distance in, but I'd still prefer no pad on the off-chance I'm riding back to back days etc. Also means I don't need to wash it as often which I like to think extends the life of any DWR etc.

I bought some of these Shimano ones the other week, didn't realise they had no pad, I wanted padded ones, but they're very warm and water seems to bead up on them nicely, couldn't be bothered sending them back considering what I paid.

Argh, they look ideal but according to the size guide I would be an XL and only XXXL left in stock! How did they size up?

Rivelo do tights without a pad,got a couple of pairs last winter, very good.

There are the ShowersPass skyline pants which are sort of in-between leggings and trousers but with waterproof panels.

They do run warm though which might be ok if it's chilly and you're only doing Zone 2.  I find them a bit too warm unless nearly sub-zero otherwise.  ok for going over shoes as well unless you have quite long legs.
