Give up xc through the winter and take up downhilling and get yourself a set of Five-tens and some Seal Skinz - never had cold feet on xc rides with that combo, plus the push up when downhilling keeps the blood circulating warming one's feet.

Believe me, Spd shoes and Seal Skinz are not enough in winter: I went for a road ride one evening this week and it took over an hour for my feet to defrost afterwards.

LOL!!!

More usefully, last winter my MP66 kept my wet feet warm. This year I have some second hand NW Celcius. Sealskins help. Sadly all the decent shoes are > GBP100 🙁
