To fit a Kinesis T2.

I had some of the band on Raceguards - they were rubbish and self destructed after a few months use.

I got some SKS Chromoplastic ones and they snapped on me - one was my fault when I was mending a puncture one dark, wet night but the front guard just fell in half one day.

Any recommendations for a decent set of guards that will see me through the winter?

PDW Full Metal Fenders. I've snapped two rear chromoplastics at the bridge, it's a common failure.

I still find SKS plastics the best for winter.
I always fit a small rubber grommet and spacer tube at the bridge point, seems to stop them snapping. I also put some tape over the underside rivet areas to stop them corroding as quick ( another reason they snap)

Can't fault them performance-wise, but haven't managed to stop the fractures. My Topeaks have been more robust (suing the SKS mountings) but don't look as good 😉 . My Raceblade Longs have also been good.

There's some info/pics here:

I've got some removable Topeak Defenfer mudguards and they are, erm, OK.
Seemed to take ages to get set-up on the first occasion & when you put them back on they don't sit in exactly the same place so have to be fiddled with again......

PDW here.

Had to chop some of the rear off to fit the miniscule clearance my Planet X has between the wheel & frame, which was a shame 'cos they are a bit spendy!. Having said that, they are by far the best I've ever had. Once on, they stay put and don't rattle / rub. Well worth the extra £'s
