Long legs here! So 34" inseam. Slim fitting, water proof, warm, to team up with one length seal skins and wear over knee pads.
Are the Madison ones any cop?

I've had my Madison ones for a few years after 10 years of ebay army gortex. Keep me dry and clean. Just rinse them down with the hosepipe.
I also have some demo pro pants which are good for the dry days

They fit well with room for pads underneath and are flexible

I have a pair of Madison 4 season DWR trousers, I wore them a lot last winter.
They're ok but I can't really recommend them.
The material is nice and stretchy and they keep the mud off but the fit for me is awful.
They're slim on the legs, a bit too tight at the ankles (mud etc gets in my shoes) but the waist is too big. I've added some extra velcro on the adjusters which has improved things but they still slip down. Mine are a medium, I think small would be too tight on the legs.
For reference I'm 5'9" with 32" waist.

Just rediscovered some Endura Singletrack trousers from a few years ago.
Think they are Large as I am 6'2" and 34" inside leg.
Forgotten about them really in the back of the draw but recently taken them on a few mucky gravel rides.
Great when you come back as they have zips at the bottom so you can just drop them off revealing your clean bibshort underneath with no mucky hands!

Fox Flexair Pants. Bloody marvellous and no more limiting than wearing shorts. Really lightweight and comfy. Keeps your legs nice and clean and can cope with a bit of rain BUT not waterproof.

I had a skill session with Jay Williamson and he was rocking the Royal trousers, they did seem solid. At the time I thought they were pricy, but seeing how much Endura want for trousers I'm not so sure!

I got an email this morning saying the decathlon am trousers are back in stock. Took a punt on a pair. My favourites so far have been the 50to01 trousers. They are a good material and way better fitting compared to the slightly to baggy and flappy fox ones I have

I ride with army goretex which are not that comfy but effective and loose fitting waterproof which are pretty comfy and quite effective.think proper riding pants are the best bet though.used to have spne endura ones that were great.need to get some again really

I got that decathlon mail too ! I’m after a pair with shortish legs, ideally about 31 inch leg and 34 waist... Not sure how the decathlon ones size up..

I’m a 30” leg and 32” ish waist. Figure for a £40 pair of trousers I will just cut the bottoms if they are long!

I'm 34" waist and 5'9"(and a quarter...) and wear regular length suit trousers and the Decathlon L AM trousers are a snug fit at the waist and seem about the right length although I haven't actually ridden the bike whilst wearing them. I'm about to send mine back as just don't see them being very durable and I was disappointed that the waterproof seat is a single thickness, not an additional panel over the base material, and is very thin. The zip is very short too, meaning that comfort stops will require dropping the trousers. They are also quite close fitting and I don't think my preferred pads will even fit underneath and no ankle zips means undressing to fit or remove pads.

I am returning my winter Decathlon ones. They feel good but I am wanting some that dont channel all the water into your footwear. The 3" front zip is crazy and not keen on the side/rear single pocket. Tried one leg in wearing a Fox knee guard and a shin pad without any problems. Its them skinny ankles that bug me. The Royals seem similar, yet to look at other options or stick with the ex army goretex over trousers over some fleece lined Craghopper trousers which are great.

@hainman or @samwilk200 are the storm trousers true to size and can you easilly fit knee pads under them? Cheers!

Fit my IXS Flow pads under fine.

Hoping for some offer for Black Friday!

Cheers @samwilk200 strangely, there seems to be two different size charts. Royal Racing chart says a L is 34-36 waist and 30.8 inseam while the chart on Tredz says 33-35 waist and 32 inseam.

I've ordered the Keela Roadrunners because they do a short leg, but they're not waterproof and I'm not convinced they'd be very hard wearing. Not sure whether to return them as they're only ones I can find to fit..

It's annoying that no one seems to do short length trousers when, I'd have thought, shorter rather than longer legs would be preferable on the bike.

I bought some of these for a mate who works outdoors.

£10 for what turned out to be an unworn pair of gore tex trousers...Amazing value.

Royals are great, but I think you'll struggle with the length OP. Im 33/34" waist, but fairly short 31" leg and theyre only a touch too long for me. Not 3"

Size wise for people asking the L has loads of room for a 33/34 waist so I would say ROyal's sizing is correct.

I would say rather than go for warm, get waterproof trousers and some bib tights. Its a better combo thats more versatile.

I also have the newly out Madison DWR pants. The cut's actually pretty good for me but only in M where Im right at the top of the sizing. L was too big (waist cinched to the max was still big) and too long, but that would work for someone. If anyone wants the large set PM me, only worn once (washed) & will be cheap. They're my new favourite to ride in at the moment but the royals are still better in the wet (obviously!).

Both trews fit over knee pads just fine.

I have the Royal Storm in Large... i can tell you my fit. I like my trousers nice and tight and I’m about a 35” waist, and I can pull them fully tight. I would say someone with a 33 waist they’d just drop down. They’re a proper fit though, anyone who wants trousers wider at the base doesn’t want these, these are tight so they don’t catch your chainring, well designed! My fox enduro pads fit under, slightly tight but still enough give, got them for £70 last time they were on offer too!

I’m using these and love them, exactly as Blackflag describes.
