Hi I’m after some waterproof winter shoes/boots. I don’t really want the massive huge MTB boots as it’s for the gravel bike but need some tread for off road walking grip.
I have some Giro Rumble VR shoes at the moment which are really summer shoes, but they do fit perfectly so ideally I’d like some waterproof versions of those please!
Wouldn’t mind a 3/4 shoe but don’t need a mud plugging welly type shoe.
Thanks in advance.

Have you thought of overshoes? I’ve just bought an Endura MT500 II set for £19 from Evans. Best money I’ve spent on keeping warm and dry. Plenty grip as well for hike-a-biking.

Why not? I use Northwave MTB boots on my road bike in Winter, they're far better than overshoes for when it's properly cold and wet.

Assuming they fit then they should only be "massive" to the extent they keep you warm and dry and enable some grip for walking, which is what you want isn't it? I wear MTB boots (Shimano) for this and find them good, but that's nothing to do with gravel and everything to do with them being the boots that fit me and suit the level of insulation and waterproofing I want. It's essentially either them with the necessary grip to walk or some roadie ones without.

I have had a few pairs of winter boots - shimano/ Northwave etc. IMO they are a bit heavy, still get wet and take ages to dry oout. So I dont bother anymore.

For normal cold & wet conditions I just use spd's and overshoes.

If its horrible I put flats on and cycle in proper walking boots.

I wear my Specialized Defrosters on my road bike, gravel bike and mtbs when the weather is cold, wet and muddy. They aren't big and heavy, but the are warm and waterproof and the soles are grippy.

Not a fan of them, as I will probably be walking in Rocky places they tend not to last very long anyway.

Something similar to this really. https://www.sigmasports.com/item/Shimano/MT7-Gore-Tex-SPD-MTB-Shoes/ONWJ

Shimano shoes tend to be a bit wide for me though.

I use the same Giro Rumble VR shoes on my gravel bike in the summer, but for this winter I've switched to Shimano MW7 boots (a size bigger so I can wear two pairs of socks). Yes they are heavier and more bulky than my summer shoes, but I can ride around in an Aberdeenshire winter without getting cold feet, so that's a win for me (after years of suffering with chilblains in the winter).

I just wear these Raptor TH shoes. They are MTB winter shoes but hardly "massive huge" as you can see.

+1 Shimano MT7's.

I bought them for riding, and used them during the spring/summer/autumn but for winter I wear my Mavic Crossmax Thermo.

If you like those NWs then the boot version makes more sense as it stops most of the water entering the shoe for winter use.

Northwave Raptor is now the Magma and I must say they are a great winter shoe
