Currently riding in a pair of doc martens boots, work ok, but a bit clunky to get on and off. Should be ok for rain and snow, nothing too extreme, down to -10 max.
I use cheap snowboots from decathlon, about 45 quid without checking, waterproof, warm and pretty light
Why are there no winter boots for flats? It's a question raised often. Puzzling
Doc Martens are a new suggestion for me - but if they work then why not.
I just put on extra socks. But cold feet is the number one reason I get 'cold feet' for going out in winter
Whatever lower ankle walking boots you can find, plus gaiters has worked in extreme conditions for me before.
Just got a pair of these in the post. Overshoes specifically for flat pedals.

Should hopefully keep the heat in and muck out
If you can get them on...
five ten guide tennie GTX here.
As above, the QUECHA or whatever they're called from Decathlon along with some DHB winter socks from CRC, awesome.
I really rate Salomon's but their sole rubber is terrible in the wet so would not recommend them.
Something with not too aggressive sole, if there's big chunky lines between grippy bits, the pins from flat pedals will sit in these, and it's guaranteed to influence where your foot sits. Not good, there's a reason proper flat shoes are pretty smooth soled.
Surely it's all about the sole on the boot. Unless it's Stealth type of grippyness then not going to be as much use?
The Endura overshoes are a nightmare to try and get on and then when you do you will find out that they are not even slightly waterproof .
Perhaps the UK market isn't big enough to warrant developing a lovely warm, waterproof, quick drying boot with the 5:10 grip?

In cold winter days i don't care about grip.
I find Decathlon's sole too sketchy for flatties so I stuck to my 5.10s and use waterproof socks. Mate has a pair of walking shoes (Merrell I think) with a vibram sole and he reckons those work. He is notoriously unbothered by such technicalities as grip though
Old pair of walking boots resoled with 5-10 dotty stealth rubber. I had my salomon's done about three years ago now & rarely ride in anything else.
love salomons for trail running / wet walking / snow / dog walking but have wrecked a couple of pairs riding in them - might be a dated opinion* could have sorted but found cracked at flex point both sole and upper if used for riding
*and I failed to retain the packaging for future reference [/waves_to_lawyers]
your current flat pedal shoes (unless they're 510 impacts!) plus some thick sealskinz socks is surely a no brainer?
seal skin knee highs are great for minging weather
I'd be down my local Millets/Go Outdoors for whatever Hi-Tec/cheap waterproof boots they had. They won't be as good for walking, but that won't matter much. In fact the more flexible sole might help for riding.
A mate who works in the outdoor industry claims that more Salomon are returned for lack of waterproofing than any other brand. Just saying .

I'm assuming you don't use flat pedals.

That seems unlikely seeing as they use the same Gore-Tex lining technology as pretty every other brand on the market and Gore are very controlling in the way their technology is used. Maybe it's because Salomon tend to produce mostly fabric-based boots / are very popular.
Anyway, if you're after grippiness from the sole unit that's not five.ten Stealth, Vibram does a semi-sticky compound called Megagrip, which tends to be used on approach shoes and mids, or Idrogrip, which is their watersport compound and is stickier again. Gets used by the likes of Scarpa and La Sportiva,
The issue I always have with waterproof boots on bikes is that water eventually runs into them anyway through the big hole at the top and even the best gaiters can only do so much.
I use walking socks, goretex socks (mod surplus) & a pair of five tens a size bigger than normal. Toastie, waterproof feet and decent shoes
