Is it difficult to get credit of these guys?I,m a bit surprised you can't apply online, you have to ring the shop.Any experiences out there would be nice to hear.Neil.
They seem to use V12 finance like a lot of other places, I’d guess they just don’t have the right e-commerce site to do it online, or they want to upsell you.
Comsumer finance is usually an easy pass.
Thanks p-jay,I hadn't thought about the old upsell tactic.I cant say I,m very keen on providing private information over the phone.Maybe,if I wait a while ,they might upgrade to the 20th Century. That will give me more time to research Winstanley bikes.
I've used them for bike finance. Dead easy no pressure, simple and quick. Winstanleys are top notch in my experience . The guys on the retail side seem knowledgable and keen to give you options. Generally carry plenty of stock.
Richard
Thanks dicky,I think, the bike I,m interested in is available.Hopefully, some of the complaints about Winstanleys on various threads are exaggerated. I,ll investigate further.
I also had absolutely no problems buying on finance with them on the phone

Of course they are, see all complaint threads, "they sent me a 42-11 instead of a 44-11 cassette the day before the biggest race of my life now my children have starved to death as a result of my lost earnings" etc. You'll see more horror stories and revulsion on here about on one customer service than you would about book burnings and pogroms.
Used them plenty and they were great. Didn't finance it though.
Just be sure they really do have in stock what you want to buy.
Fair point Hamish. How will I actually know though?
They will probably go and check for you while you're on the phone if you ask nicely.
A couple of us seem somewhat grumpy today.
What me? Not at all.
I know them quite well and they are very helpful. They're open til 5, give them a bell now and ask.
Can’t comment on the finance side of things but it’s my local bike shop and I use them for everything. Staff are very knowledgeable and all bike riders. The stock levels have always been accurate as far as I’m concerned. I’ve ordered items that were out of stock and got them within a week.
Bad points- new website is awful and they never seem to have enough staff on the shop floor, if their are a couple of people in looking at bikes it takes a while to get served.
Winstanleys are fine, give them a buzz.

Well you are asking silly questions, before the days of internet people spoke to other people to sort things out. It's not hard.
The hangovers are kicking in today I think.
Not used them for finance, but I've had a couple of bikes and a few bits and pieces from them over the years.
Never had any issues, as above it sometimes takes a few minutes to get served but no big deal
They are open til 5 today as well, if you can pluck up the courage to call.
🙂
Seems to be issues with poor customer service. Are the staff a bit thick?
I think it’s mostly the customers.
Yeh,its the customers who lie about stock levels.
I've used them before for components, they have been fine. Also sorted out a warranty job on my dropper. No complaints from me so far.
