Been bikeing know for 23 years and have rode up helvelyn at least 4 times but have come to the verdict which ever way I tackle it it's a bitch of a slog so this weekend I'm going to take the unorthodox approach and strap my bike to my rucksack and walk up and ride down via the tin mines .I can normaly get up on foot (also walked it a few times)in just over an hour if I yomp it. Will be funny to see people's faces on the way down as I pass on my ss.
No, good idea
I certainly wouldn't. I try to do most of my ascending on asphalt as it's much easier. Suppose many would call this cheating, but I don't care.
The people who mind don't matter and the people who matter don't mind. I find it funny how we have rules for having fun!
Sounds like a good idea to me....I did it earlier on this year...3.5 hours to the summit.....30 minutes back down!!!
I regularly push my bike up hills and ride down them.
