So knackered my slx 3 x10 shifters which have no 2x10 option...
What I am planning for now is keeping slx 3x10 front mech and replacing with XT M780 2x10 shifters
Then removing big ring at front replacing with a bash and blackspire stinger...
Anyone see any reason the front mech wouldn't work with these shifters in 2x10 mode or anything else in this setup not working?

3x10 shifters DO have a 2x10 option... just click once! All you have to do is set the limit adjust screws. Do they not work at all now anyway?
Left hand shifted - was out playing on bike last night and loud crack then heard something ping and now completely lifeless just push them back and forwards with no resistance or cable movement....
New XT M780 shifters will have a switch on the front shifter that lets you choose 2x or 3x. As above, you'll need to adjust the limit screw after you remove the big ring.
Your front derailleur should work ok with a 2x10 since all that you have done is remove the big ring.
The only real difference in a 2x10 front derailleur is that they aren't designed to handle as big of a front chainring as a triple one is.
