Will the world end if I ride an XL instead of a L?

I'm just short of 6ft, normally ride an L and currently have a Big Bro which feels massive (but in a good way). I just saw a Sonder Broken Road for a hundred quid off and bought it - going to build it up as a trail/bp/general bike since I've got a lot of parts lying around at home doing nothing. The frame is XL though, do you think that's going to be a big issue?

Cheers

What's the reach on it? Sub 480ish and I'd say you'll be fine

Yep, it's 460, my current ride (Big Bro) is 432mm. In terms of TT, they're almost the same. I admit that I don't understand too much regarding frame geometry.

Erm, you'll be fine. 460mm reach really isn't an XL size. 480/490 or above, yeah.

It's probably about the right size for you, depending on seat angle.

Depends how tall the seat tube is. Compare it to your current bike on geometrygeeks and you'll get a good idea.

The TT on the xl is pretty long, you may find it feels odd when seated and pedaling.

The reach is 480 I think https://alpkit.com/products/sonder-broken-road-deore you will notice the jump there from the big bro when pointed down, coupled with the wheel base it'll make for a more stable bike but will need more man handling.

The world will not end though, it'll just need a bit of getting used to.

Sorry, I meant it was a Frontier, not a BR!

Would putting on a Jones-type bar make it 'smaller'?

When I compare on that very useful bike website, it doens't seem the BB is much smaller.

Yes.

I ride L and brought an XL last year. Hated it. Sold it. brought a L.

T'was a Bronson.
