I've got a trance and the chain has stretched causing wear on the cassette. its probably worn the chain rings too? if so i might as well replace the 2006 power spline cranks (replaced the bb + rings) i have and SLX will be the way to go.

So do I buy it all now worried about prices going up or do I wait for when the chain gives up and replace it all then?

talking about the £90 double + bash SLX cranks from merlin and crc

Be honest mate if it's inevitable it's going to wear soon, might as well purchase it now, i highly doubt it will depreciate in value, no need to fit it straight away but at least you have it there for when you need it.

I've been told that Shimano prices are going to be dropping soon.

reliable source dibbs?
the other end of the stick is how much stock to CRC and merlin have! its all good holding on for another price drop but not if they sell out early ha ha.
thanks for the info.

gsuperstar - of course its inevitable - its a powerspline bb 😀 and the rear cassette is unrideable with a new chain already ha ha. bummer.
