If not I presume the issue is with the brace width as height is similar?
Any advice much appreciated.

As long as they are boost they should be okay .
2.8in B-plus most likely, on 35mm-ish rims.
Wouldn't like to assume for massively wider rims or 3in tyres - but others will be more knowledgable.
I'd probably be looking at standard non boost qr forks .
My non boost 29er forks fitted 27.5 Minion DHF 2.8 no problems
I had a 2.8in Nobby Nic in a non-boost Pike and it rubbed on the legs when it picked up a bit of mud.
Fine in dry weather though.
If it helps my 29er Boost Fox 34s take 650b+ 2.8inch Minions and Vigilantes with tons of room to spare, as well as 29ers strangely enough...
29” boost fox 34 take 2.8” on 40mm rims no problem
So do 27.5” x-fusion sweep, although need the wheel redishing to cope with 100mm axle.
So do 27.5” x-fusion sweep
I bought some of these from PX for £233 recently, proper bargain, and they easily take a 2.8 Michelin Wild AM tyre.

2015 non-boost pike takes maxxis 2.8 tyres no problem on 35mm rims, even has enough room for a muckynutz. I once shoehorned in a 3.0 Vittoria bomboloni and ran it for about 100 miles but there was very little room for mud clearance.
