Someone linked to some cheapish looking 26"/27.5" forks on here a couple of weeks ago but they were for tapered steerer.
My old bike is old and has an old steerer. I'm guessing you might be able to fit non taper forks in a tapered head tube ( with some sort of adapter) but not the other way round.
Can you tell me?
44mm headtube and above I think will take a tapered fork with an external lower cup.
As above, 44mm headtubes will take tapered with an external lower cup.
As others have said it may be possible but in all likelihood most older frames don’t have straight 44mm and therefore unlikely to be an option. What frame do you have?
It's the cheapo Ibis from years ago.... Special Blend it was called.
Which bit do I need to measure ?
Cheers
Special Blend is a spec level, not a model. What model was it? Mojo, Mojo SL, HD, HDR, HD3?
Sorry Daffy. 'Twas an SL methinks. Certainly not a HD of any description.

I'm a million miles from certain but that looks like it might, might be a 44mm head tube??
The spec says it's an integrated headset, therefore you're out of luck as the bearings fit directly in the frame.
