I am thinking about going 10-42 on my CX but currently have 11-36. Will it fit if I buy a wheel with an XC hub?

XD hubs only fit XD compatible cassettes and they are only available in 10-42t.

... or you could also put a 44T One Up Components cassette ring on it to run a bigger Fr chainring.
