Apologies as no doubt this has been done before, but would there be any downside to running 27.5+ in a 29" fork? I'm looking to buy a frame and fork that can run both wheel sizes.

We do with no problems 27.5 x 2.8 in one bike and 29 x 2.6 in the other. Both Turbo Levos

A 29" fork will have a larger Axel to Crown length than a 27.5" fork with the same travel. Around 20mm difference

So long as the frame is designed around the A/C length you are looking at then there will be no issue

A 27.5+ x 2.8" wheel and tyre will only be about 10mm smaller diameter that an 29 x 2.4" tyre.

Most forks are listed as 27.5+/29 anyway.

The outside diameter of the two sizes are similar so I cant think of any down sides.

I personally run 29+ (29×3.0) in a 2015 fox 32 29

I run 26" wheels (yes, I know) in a 27.5" Pike fine.

Plan to change the wheels at some point (or maybe sell the bike and just buy a new 29er full sus, or maybe just give up on full sus! Sorry - internal monologue!)

Both forks are listed as both sizes and boost so its more than probable that it's a 29 fork
