Im getting an 09 enduro frame soon, however my forks are only 140mm travel.
Enduro frame normally come with a 150mm travel fork, am i likely to find the bike a bit wierd with 140mm forks or will it be ok.
Will only be until i can afford a set of 150mm revs and a matching pair of wheels.
cheers
steve
You probably won't notice. If you're at all worried then try running the Enduro in the slacker setting.
Hmm. I had some 130mm Rockshox on my Orange 5. When I upgraded to Fox Talas 140mm the bike immediately felt as though I wasn't being pitched into the handlebars.
I daresay this would feel the same in your case...
Why don't you buy a Burgtec off-set shock bush as an interim fix? They're cheap enough, made from titanium and when you get your new forks you could experiment with head angles then as well as you may like the bike a bit slacker. Worth a punt.
I've just got one of the Enduro 09 frames and mine will be running 140mm forks. I have my forks fairly stiff so they don't sag to much so should compensate a bit. I also be running my frame in the slack postion, irrc the 09 pitch's came with a 140mm forks and 150 rear ends.
You will die
We all have to die at some point 😉
If your planning on upgrading your forks don't get revs, go for some Lyriks. The extra burlyness of the Lyriks really suits the Enduros. I put my Pikes on my Enduro and it just felt wrong, all confidence in the front end disappeared because they looked so skinny on such a chunky frame. With Lyriks on mine I know it will cope with whatever I can throw at it.
