Doing my first race next week and have a couple of questions
What shall I take with me? I am riding on my own so will have to leave it in the pit area. How safe is it to leave your gear there in the pit?
Any other advice will be much appreciated
im doing this solo as well. im taking a little pop-up tent and plenty of kit! bit of food and im hoping its safe as i'll be leaving a spare pair of wheels there!
Cracking event especially if the weather is good. Done it for the last 5 or 6 years now and never had a problem with leaving stuff in the pit. Enjoy it.
I've done this 3x before. Not doing it this year as I am far too unfit.
Take all the kit you think you will need. I took all my normal gear, with plenty of food & water. There is normally a SIS stand giving out free energy drink, but best to check whether it is there or not before relying on it.
A pop-up tent is a great idea to shelter in if the weather is rubbish prior to the start or while you are in the pits. I think I got one from Argos for about £25.
