Wiggle - Stock expected soon

I don't think I've bought from Wiggle in a few years, mainly because they always seem to be out of stock of the stuff I want. Then last week I picked up a tyre from them. There was only 1 in stock and I want 2 but the website optimistically advised "Stock expected soon".

I've had a look through their new, downgraded website for some other bits and pieces (still seemingly very little in stock) and noticed that everything I've looked at that's out of stock is saying "Stock expected soon". Is this the default position - everything that's out of stock is expected to be in stock soon? Once upon a time they'd give ETA dates.

And while we're about it, what's happened to the email stock notifications that they used to have? I have to keep checking back with the site to see if they have any stock in rather that being sent a handy little email telling me that they've restocked.

Yeah I think stock expected soon is their standard out of stock placeholder. I wouldn't be too optimistic about them getting stock again.

It really is a dreadful website now and hasn't noticeably improved since they turned the new one on - search still crap, filters are rubbish (for example if you filter wheels by 29er then they have 1 option apparently).

depends what it is, if its heavily discounted then may not come back in, although the recent deals on fox forks and endura kit, they've restocked.

I emailed them about a product with "stock coming soon" and they replied very quickly with "we don't know, soz".

The guys at the top need to be fired, it amazes me how Wiggle have managed to destroy their business via a disastrous IT change at a time when Brexit has blocked all EU competitors and business should be doing well. They should have just left it as it was.

Depends what you're after. I've been after some cheap but decent quality 27.5+ rims for a while and just picked up some WTB i40 rims at £15 a pop 👍

I put a small order in last night including 2 off £1.99 brake cables. I've had a refund for £5.48 today, which I think is for one cable, but it's not entirely clear. I guess I'll just have to wait and see what turns up. 🙄

I think I'll push them right down the priority list. Not quite who to use though now some of the euro shops I liked are no longer practical.

Well the order I mentioned the other day arrived.

All items delivered, so what the part-refund was for I have absolutely no clue as it doesn't even match the value of any of the items or combinations of items. Free money - who do I complain to? 😁

WTB i40 rims

Drake meme - cheap rims good, wtb rims bad

I've had more than one WTB rim fail due to corrosion, I'll pass thanks

Used to use them a lot as they were usually the cheapest (plus got a bit more off with the loyalty discount) but I wouldn't use them (or CRC) again since the website redesign. What were they thinking? Probably one of the ugliest websites out there now.

The website is not that bad, they have the "only show in stock" option back which is good enough for me. I used them earlier this week for a tyre and rotor and even with the free postage option it was on my doorstep within 48 hours. The rotor was £10 cheaper than anywhere else too.

Whereas I've used WTB rims on quite a few wheels I've built over the years, and never had an issue 🤷‍♂️
