Free Wiggle+ returns are a lifesaver for navigating the weird and wonderful world of bike clothing sizes, but boy they try your patience. Now a pair of shoes took ten days to get from the drop-off to the depot, and they still haven't refunded my card. If I had an LBS I'd be busy supporting them!
As its a free service they need to find a way to make it work for them. The longer they leave it, the longer they have your money and are getting interest on it or not having to borrow as much. Plus it costs money to inspect the items and make sure they are not used.
People buying expensive items like castelli and then returning a fake item bought off Ali express in its place. If they don't do their job right then you might end up buying the fake item.
They will refund you, I don't think 10 days is unreasonable for a free service.
Or, the courier system took ages and it's not Wiggles fault at all. Sometimes things take longer than they should, not the end of the world is it?
I've just returned some road shoes direct to a mainstream manufacturer as they are faulty. Tracking says they were delivered circa 10:00 on Monday but I have not had a confirmation email or the refund yet. I will chase some time next week, really not a problem.
There seems to be a mixture. I've done free Collect+ , but also paid £2.99 to return a DHB Roubaix jacket for some reason.
Both have been quicker than your experience
I just paid £2.99 to return an Endura Gilet back to Wiggle. Posted back last Thursday, refunded yesterday.
Maybe they are taking the mick with the free service. (?)
Yeah I don’t get the problem. They’re not asking you to do anything, it’s not stressful in any way, you just have to wait?
I've used that service loads. Every time I buy clothing I buy two sizes of sometimes several garments, and I return all but one. It's always been prompt for me.
I suspect some shittiness in the local part of your courier network.
Probably down to EVRi. They “lose” lots of items. Before their name change they “lost” 2 Apple Watches, a SRAM GX AXS upgrade kit and a laptop in the space of a month that I had either ordered or returned, all at my local end. They delivered all the cheap stuff though…
Probably down to EVRi
Nope, I bought some of those heavily discounted DHB Dorica shoes for my lad, they didn't fit, did the online free return through Ervi, dropped it off at a parcel shop, got email notification that it had been collected, then delivered about 3 days later.
Then got email notification of it being checked, accepted and then the refund landed in my account about 4 days later, smooth and trouble free for me.
The delay is at the Yodel national hub where I guess they consolidate a bunch of items to reduce cost, and now at Wiggle where they still have “waiting for return” on the status page, despite Yodel listing it as returned. First world problem, but irritating.
Nothing wrong with Evri but Yodel seem to build a 50% failure rate into their model. I’ll always try a different vendor if I know they use them.
As for the environmental impact of buying more than one thing with a view to returning….I’m not sure driving to a shop which is probably not that near or on your normal route for one pair of shorts then possibly returning when they have ordered the size that fitted which they didn’t have the first time you went is any better
Best thing for the environment is to buy less stuff and repair the stuff you have when it breaks.
