Hey All,

Just picked up a Wiggins Chartres 24 for my 9 year old.  Needs a little TLC but seems like a nice light bike, and 9 speed so has parts interchangeability with my other bikes!

But I was wondering how big a tyre you could fit in it!  Currently with 1.75 kenda semi slicks, but thinking about going for some 1.9 or 2.1 schwalbe black jacks to make it more off road ready?

Any thoughts or experiences?  No pics as it's in the mother in-laws shed, awaiting work!  Oh ant it's intended to last through 3 kids, if that makes any difference to any opinions!

Ta! Keith

I’ve got Schwalbe Mad Mike 2.125 on a Chartres 20 with plenty of clearance
