I have an old CX bike which has canti brake mounts and currently has TRP CX 8.4 V brakes. They work really well with the DA 10sp brake levers.
As i dont ride CX and i have a gravel bike, i was thinking of making it into a more comfortable road bike but with some deep carbon rims and some 28-32 mm tyres. My current road bike struggles with tyres over 23mm!
So if i got some rim brake carbon wheels that had an external width of more than 19mm will it be a problem for my brakes? The frame will take upto a 32mm tyre, so a wider rim per se shouldnt be a problem, unless it does something unplanned with the v-brake function.
I appreciate the common sense action is get a new bike, but the Roubaix at Evans have sold out, and i love the bike as its a Moots, that i will never own again.
Any thoughts or suggestions gratefully received

It'll be fine unless you go stupidly wide. V brakes normally have concave and convex spacers to align the pads, and these are either thick or thin, you can swap them around to get the arms roughly parallel when the brake pad hits the rim.
I've got 19mm INTERNAL rims on a CX bike with Avid Shorty Ultimate cantilevers, it was a pain in the bum and required me to Dremmel away at the (Avid specific...) threaded rods on the brake pads but also to fit some Swissstop 'Evo' pads which are effectively just 0.75mm shallower (yes, I paid for pre-worn pads 🙄).
Same rims on the gravel bike with CX 8.4s work fine with standard Swissstop pads.
Just eyeballing them, I think the Koolstop salmon inserts are possibly as shallow as the Swissstop Evo, and possibly cheaper also.
