Hi, I've recently changed my SRAM X9 2x10 to a 1x10 by simply binning the front mech and sticking a new chainring on. I've got an 11-50t cassette which I tried to install but it seems that the b screw on the rear mech isn't long enough for the job. I know that some cassettes come with extra long b screws but mine didn't. Does anyone happen to know what dimension screw/bolt I should be looking for? Also, is there anything else that I might be missing, eg an issue with the rear mech not being able to take the 50t sprocket?

Take the screw out and put it in from the other end.
I would've thought you'd need a longer cage.
I just got away with using my med cage X5 with a 42, I would've had no chance with anything bigger.

OK, I'll try that. I think that I might be on to a loser though.

You're asking a mech designed for 36t max cassette to jump to 50t. Even shimano 11spd that will work with 46t with nonfaffing needs ba new cage to make the jump to 50t.
Also.. 11-50t 10speed?

I mean 11-42t. No idea where I got 50t from. That'll teach me to write posts hungover.
