I want to try and replicate that crazy short stem idea as a bit of an experiment.
I’ve already got a suitable stem in the Mr Dirt zero (v short) reach but it only takes 25.4 bars.
I’ve gotten used to wider bars over time and think reverting to something of 695mm would ruin the experiment so any ideas of thin bars of over 740mm and where to get them?
Happy to try 2nd hand if anyone has some in the spares bin.

Cheap BMX bar and stem, mount the stem backwards. Job jobbed. (Assuming you mead the RideReverse thing?)
Yeah that’s the one but no not a bmx bar I don’t want to go to that extreme. Just add a couple of inches of rise and use the stem I’ve had in the spares box since I bought it on a whim 15 years ago.

Surly look ok but prob a bit too tall with the stem as well. The Stooges are simply hideous 😳 so no. 😀
You need to look at DJ bars as they've stuck with 25.4 in the main. NS Bikes proof bars would be my recommendation but others will be available e.g. Gusset Prison bars in 3" or 2" rise.
Wouldn’t it be cheaper to buy a really cheap 31.8 stem and use your existing bars?

I’ve got a pair of Funn DH bars for sale. 25.4mm clamp, 740 or 750mm wide. I can’t quite remember. Tidy condition. Black, shit peen as usual with gloss grip and controls area.

I think I have some of those. Very low rise though, maybe only 15/20mm.
@zerocool I’ve already got the shortest stem availability at 32.5mm, this is just a rise based experiment.
@bigblackshed could be interested in the bars. Please confirm width and rise and what you’re looking for. My only other concern is the shit peening. 😉
I’ve just checked the stem and while it’s not as short as I remember (it’s about 35mm) it sure is tall at 69mm stack vs the 22 of my current Renthal.
