As in the title. Appealing benefits of the new 2015 Zesty are: 1kg Lighter, E:i Shock. Benefits of T129 are: slacker head angle, Pike fork.

Test ride on both in new year but advance thoughts appreciated.

When the zesty cracks you'll have to deal with Lapierre. Just keep your fingers crossed that doesn't happen during the summer when they're closed for business. And don't expect them to keep warranty to stock of frames, oh no. That would be silly. Better to sell them all on CRC when they are a year old for 40% off.

Oh and then there's your EI shock. Who you gonna call when it shears teeth off it's gears? Fishers? Nope. UK Rockshox distributor won't keep parts for them as they are OEM only. Hotlines? Last time I checked they didn't have any. So back to Lapierre then 😆

Carbon back end on that bike too? That means you'll need to change your rear end articulation bushes every 6 months (maybe twice through winter) at least or they'll wear out and leave your back end feeling floppier than a bag of wet dicks.

You need to come off the fence and really say what you think 🙂

Never really thought about the warranty part as after 20+ years of riding ive never had to use it. Are these things a real possibility or just nightmare scenarios?

Rode a Lapierre 29er in the Peaks, it was a 2014 but the back end was very flexy even when climbing... overall i'd avoid I am sorry to say.

Have dabbled on a few Whytes and they have all felt good but no proper rides.

I'm just back from the bike shop where a mate has just bought the Whyte T129s. I'm seriously impressed by it, looks like the dogs b*******. I'm not usually a fan of 29'ers, but Whyte have made a seriously playful bit of kit with the 129.
I'm gonna enjoy seeing my mate crash it now over the next few rides, if i can keep up!

Hows the tyre clearance on the current T129? Was looking at the clearance on the 2014 whilst in my LBS...looked minimal even with the scrawny tyre that came as standard
