So after lots of searching my choice is between these 2. 650b vs 29er, 1x11 vs 2x10, Yari vs Pike.

The Whyte is 2nd hand but as new, no marks or scratches. The YT will be new. Both cost the same (£1750) which is making the decision quite hard.

Ridden the T130 but not the Jeffsy and that is where the risk lies!

Reviews of both bikes are excellent, both have great components, maybe the YT slightly better but is 2x10.

Both books look great, both have a dropper. I guess it comes down to the slight difference in travel and the wheel size.

Opinions as always greatly appreciated.

Haven't ridden either but I'd buy the Whyte. Not much help really I know, sorry!

The drivetrain will wear out (quickly over winter) so I'd not let that be a deciding factor as XT 1 X 11 is relatively cheap to replace with in due course.

I think I'd go for the Whyte but you probably don't have any warranty as you aren't the original owner. If that matters to you.

Yeah the warranty is the issue, but hopefully any major claims the seller would help - will ask!

Is warranty a big issue? The bad side is that certain parts of the Whyte are lifetime warranty (1st owner only) but the Jeffsy has 2 year warranty, but you get the added pain of it not being uk supplied.

I wouldn't consider them equivalent bikes - one is a 130mm 27.5 and one is 140mm 29, the latter being a much harder hitting bike with more aggressive geometry and suspension design.

I'd get the one you'll lost the least money on when you resell it because it seems you don't really know what you want so anything is going to be a bit of a stab in the dark and likely to be superseded once you do know what really suits you. 😉

Is it the jeffsy with the pike? If so that one as it has better forks, is new and is 29". Benefits to 2x10 and 1x11 so I wouldn't make my choice based on that.
